The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Smyrna-Vinings.
Hi all. It's me, Carla Varner, your host of the Smyrna-Vinings Daily — here to explain all the most important things happening in town these days. Let's do this...
First, today's weather:
A couple of thunderstorms. High: 85 Low: 70.
Here are the top three stories today in Smyrna-Vinings:
- The director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has been appointed as a judge of the Cobb County Superior Court. Vic Reynolds will now leave his position with GBI after serving in his director position since Feb. 2019. He was appointed by Gov. Brian Kemp along with Julie Adams Jacobs as the two newest judges on the County's Superior Court bench. (AP News)
- A Cobb County man has been arrested, again, after escaping from the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. The incident occurred on Thursday morning when officers arrested Ulysses Andre Roberson, 37, at a Super 8 motel on Franklin Gateway. He was originally arrested on charges of possessing a distribution amount of crack cocaine. (AJC.com)
- A surveillance camera caught a Cobb County man inappropriately touching two women inside a county Publix store. The man allegedly rubbed up against one woman and proceeded to touch another woman's thigh.
