Carjacking Suspect Shot in Smyrna

A carjacking suspect has been taken to the hospital after a City of Smyrna employee allegedly shot him in the shoulder while the owner of the vehicle clung to the hood of the car.

According to WSB-TV, three men were at a car wash at the intersection of Highlands Parkway and South Cobb Drive looking for a car to steal. When the group targeted a white Honda and started driving away with it, the woman who owned the car leapt onto the hood.
Witnesses told WSB-TV that the Honda did a lap around the car wash with the owner clinging to the hood before the driver was shot by the city employee.
