Cobb Police Seek Impersonator Who Nearly Assaulted Girl

The man posed as a police officer and made inappropriate comments to a minor.

MARIETTA, GA -- Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man posing as an officer.

Investigators say that on Jan. 22, the man approached an underage girl who was walking home from school on Mableton Parkway. He then followed her home and as she approached her front door, the man told her he had an arrest warrant for another man inside the home.

“When the female denied him entrance, he said that he would have a patrol car respond to the location,“ police said. “After allowing the male to enter, the male briefly looked around and then began making comments on her physical appearance.”

The man then hugged the girl and, according to police, “made sexually inappropriate comments to her.“ The girl asked more questions about the warrant, prompting the man to leave her home.

According to the victim, the male fled the area in a gold, four-door Nissan with rear tinted windows.
