According to East Cobber magazine, the new charging station at 1150 Powder Springs St. will open to the public after a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. The station will charge any electric vehicle that has a compatible DC/faster charging plug, the magazine says.
Apart from public use, Cobb County will use the station to charge its ever-growing fleet of green vehicles; according to the magazine, the county has leased 16 new Nissan LEAFs for use of various county departments, cutting down on fuel expenses and ultimately saving Cobb taxpayers money.
