Mother Charged With Murder In Connection With Boy's Death: Report

COBB COUNTY, GA—A woman has been charged with two counts of murder in the death of a toddler boy whose body was found in the Chattahoochee River in July.

Cobb County court records also show charges of aggravated assault and concealing a death against Breyanla L. Cooper of Stone Mountain.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Cooper is the boy's mother.

An indictment filed last week alleges Cooper killed the boy sometime between June 26 and 27, the AJC reports. Firefighters spotted his body in the river July 1. Cooper was arrested that same day.

Cooper is being held in the Cobb County Jail, according to court records.
