New Publix Coming to Jonquil Shopping Center
Heavily anticipated for years, the new Publix will open a 45,000-square-foot store in spring 2017.

SMYRNA, GA -- Publix is finally coming to Jonquil shopping center.
The national grocer will open a 46,500-square-foot store next spring at the shopping center, according to Halpern Enterprises.
“We have worked with Publix for years and are thrilled to finally bring a Publix store to this part of Smyrna,” said John Brozovic, Halpern's regional leasing director. “Publix is a high-quality brand, and tenants appreciate the customer base they attract. This Publix will certainly benefit the 35,000 households surrounding Jonquil.”

An estimated 46,000 vehicles each day pass through the shopping center's intersection at Atlanta and Spring roads. The new store is aimed at drawing the new residential communities along the Atlanta Road corridor, including luxury apartment communities Alta Belmont and the tentatively named Alta Jonquil under development by Wood Partners.
The Publix at Jonquil will have a pharmacy and will bring 100 new jobs to the community.

The 60,000-square-foot Jonquil shopping center, developed by Halpern Enterprises and currently under construction, also has Atlanta-based chain Willy’s Mexicana Grill as a committed tenant in addition to Publix. Numerous other leases are currently under negotiation with national and local retail and restaurant brands.
Jonquil is Halpern’s fifth Publix anchor, joining a store currently under construction at Dawson Crossroads in Dawsonville; and stores at Cheshire Square in Atlanta, The Village at New Georgia in Dallas, and The Shoppes at Royale, recently sold by Halpern, in St. Petersburg, Fla.
