Police Shoot Suspect Fleeing Stolen Vehicle in Cobb County: GBI
Man in stable condition, according to Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

MABLETON, GA — A man shot by a Cobb County Police officer on Sunday was reportedly fleeing after caught in a stolen vehicle, according to the the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The man is expected to survive.
At 11 a.m., Cobb County law enforcement responded to a 911 report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Nelly Brook Drive in Mableton.
The responding officer made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and discovered that it was stolen.

"During the incident, the occupants exited the vehicle and attempted to flee the area," according to a GBI release. "The officer chased after one of the individuals and after a short distance later, the officer discharged his weapon."
The man suffered an injury that was not life threatening and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. He was listed in stable condition.
