Keep Smyrna Beautiful School Grants 2026 (fundsforngos.org) — Smyrna schools can now apply for Keep Smyrna Beautiful grants of up to $2,500 for campus beautification, gardening, recycling, and environmental education projects during the 2026–27 school year. Any K–12 public or private school with a Smyrna address is eligible, as long as the principal approves the application. The deadline to apply is November 1, 2026.

Ga. man spotted carrying a plastic tub; cops found a torso in it (wrdw.com) — Smyrna residents are reeling after police say they found a woman's dismembered body in a plastic tub at a local apartment complex, leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old held without bond. Officers reported discovering bloodstains, a bloody saw, and strong cleaning odors in his nearby unit, while the victim's identity and full circumstances remain under active investigation.

Georgia Teen Arrested After Allegedly Dropping Plastic Tub Containing Dismembered Torso (pulptastic.com) — Police say an 18-year-old has been arrested without bond after a neighbor reported him carrying a plastic tub at the Park Valley apartments in Smyrna, where officers later found a woman's dismembered torso. Smyrna investigators are still identifying the victim, processing evidence from the suspect's nearby unit, and warning that more information and potential additional charges may follow as the case unfolds.
