Smyrna police seek individual who may have information on a homicide (cobbcountycourier.com) — Smyrna police have arrested murder suspect Trey Webb after spotting him during an auto-theft call, but investigators are still seeking a man seen with him before and after a July 28 shooting on Atlanta Road. Detectives believe this individual may hold key information and are asking anyone with tips to contact Detective Eric Schum, with the option to remain anonymous.

Upcoming Keep Smyrna Beautiful events (cobbcountycourier.com) — Smyrna residents have several chances this month to tidy up, volunteer, and support local schools, starting with free Bulky Trash Amnesty Day and Adopt-a-Mile cleanups on October 17. Keep Smyrna Beautiful is also recruiting volunteers for ongoing green projects and accepting school grant applications up to $2,500 through November 1 for environmental and beautification efforts at K–12 campuses within city limits.

Local leaders say the $48 million Cobb Riverlands project will better connect Smyrna, Mableton, and surrounding communities to a cleaner, revitalized river for years to come.
