Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Smyrna Thursday Night

SMYRNA, GA -- A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday night on Atlanta Road near Pine Street in Smyrna.

Police say a white Mercedes was heading southbound on Atlanta Road when a man attempted to cross the road in front of him, outside of a pedestrian crosswalk just south of Pine Street.

The driver of the Mercedes, Messiah Quinones, 24, of Commerce, wasn't injured as a result of striking the pedestrian.

However, the pedestrian was transported by ambulance to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity hasn't been released.
