Here are the top three stories today in Smyrna-Vinings:

  1. The Cobb County School District has reported a decline in student fights. Despite the county's decline, the Georgia Department of Education reports an increase in school fights during the 2021-2022 school year. According to the department, the state had 56,000 fights occur last school year. (WJCL)
  2. Smyrna's Robin Rogers reports that the pieces he was planning on displaying at the Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival in Cary were stolen. The trailer that housed the artwork was robbed while Rodgers was staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Raleigh-Cary hotel. About 60 pieces were stolen — worth about $10,000. (ABC11)
  3. The Cobb County Police Department is investigating a Sunday morning shooting at an apartment complex. According to the department, the incident occurred at The District at Vinings on Paces Ferry Road. Details are slim but initial reports indicate that a man was shot. As of Sunday evening, his condition is unclear. (11Alive.com WXIA)
