Smyrna Company Named Fastest-Growing: 2016 Inc. 5000

Castle Medical, a Smyrna-based company that performs workplace drug testing and other services, is the 42nd fastest-growing company in the U.S., according to Inc.'s list of America's 5,000 fastest growing companies, released Wednesday.

Company.com, a business products and services company based in Roswell, was No. 5 on the list.

Castle Medical also performs testing for hormones and vitamin levels, and DNA testing that can help determine proper dosages.

Several other Cobb County-based businesses made the list:

• No. 365 — Assurity Staffing Group, Powder Springs GA
• No. 377 — Social 123, Marietta GA
• No. 407 — Digital Enterprise, Marietta GA
• No. 702 — The Surface Masters, Marietta GA

The 2016 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2012 to 2015. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2012. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies —as of Dec. 31, 2015. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.)

The minimum revenue required for 2012 is $100,000; the minimum for 2015 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.'s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at inc.com/inc5000.
