Smyrna Election 2019: Mayoral, City Council Unofficial Winners

SMYRNA, GA — The polls have closed in Georgia and voters have chosen the next Smyrna mayor and city council members. Derek Norton is the projected mayoral winner with 3,724 votes of a total of 7,907, according to WSB-TV. In Ward 2 Austin Wagner gained two more votes than incumbent Andrea G. Bluestein, making Wagner the projected winner. In ward 3, Travis Lindley (862) is the projected winner over incumbent Maryline Blackburn (766) of 1,628 votes.

All results are unofficial until canvassed by officials.

With Mayor Max Bacon opting out of a re-election campaign, that left his seat open and five eager candidates to sway voters for the title. The other election was for city council for wards one through seven; one, four and six are uncontested.
