Here are the top four stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:

  1. Several evacuations were initiated Friday around Colony Square as police wanted to be careful after threatening calls were made to the local Chick-Fil-A. Some of the condos nearby received email notifications to evacuate their homes due to a bomb threat, and photographs were taken of the sidewalks and streets filling with residents. Police gave the area the all-clear later on in the evening but the story and more details are still being developed. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  2. SweetWater 420 Fest will not be in downtown Atlanta this year due to the current law on the allowance of guns in public places. The event has been moved to SweetWater's brewery in midtown, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. For more information about the event, click here. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. Interested in spicing Valentine's Day up this year? On Feb. 14, the Southern Hospitality Group is hosting a "Marry We" mass wedding ceremony at Piedmont Park. The ceremony is meant to celebrate love in a big way, open to couples of all nationalities, religions, sexual orientations, and even married couples renewing their vows, this will be officiated by the Mayor of Atlanta, Andre Dickens. Following the ceremony will be a large reception with dancing, entertainment, an open bar, dessert, and an official wedding portrait and gift per couple. (The Atlanta 100)
  4. Anwar Wares could barely hold back his excitement as he was gifted a new bike after his previous one was stolen from a bike rack outside his job in the Old Fourth Ward. Rob Bozeman saw the story on Fox News and couldn't help but help a young man in need, Wares lives with autism, and his bike was his only means of transportation and his feeling of independence. The new bike was selected by Matt Coy, manager of an Atlanta Cycling store in Vinings, and it was the same bike stolen from Wares but upgraded. What was a nightmare for Wares soon became a thing of the past as Ware describes the experience with the new bike as it was never gone in the first place. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
