Tom Forkner, Waffle House Co-Founder, Dead at 98
Tom Forkner, who co-founded the Waffle House restaurant chain in Avondale Estates in 1955, died Wednesday. He was 98. Forkner's death comes just seven weeks after the passing of his business partner, co-founder Joe Rogers Sr., who died in March at age 97.

School Police Investigating Rumored Social Media Threat
Sequoyah High School officials are investigating rumors of a photo containing a firearm and a peculiar message posted to a social media networking site. The photo included a gun with the message, "The end is near," but no other details, the Cherokee County School District Police Department said on its Facebook page.

Alpharetta, Roswell Men Charged In Prostitution Bust
Three Alpharetta men and a resident from Roswell have been charged in connection to a now-defunct prostitution ring operating in DeKalb County. Dunwoody police earlier this year broke up two commercial sex organizations centered in the city and operating as escort services. The agency said it has identified more individuals "involved in this criminal organization," and more arrests are forthcoming.
