Austell Student Finishes 2nd in Science Fair
Emmett Peters of Austell Elementary School was the runner-up in last weekend's Cobb-wide event.
A student from Austell Elementary School finished second in last Saturday's Cobb County School District Elementary Science Fair at Kennesaw Mountain High School.
Emmett Peters, a fourth-grader, was among the nearly 140 students who entered projects in the fair.
His presentation was entitled "Is Food Making Hearts Race?"

Three times the number of students entered the fair this year over last year, showing that word is getting out about the quality and importance of science at the elementary level, as well as the interest of students in hands-on learning.
