Cobb County Police and Fire Dept. Safety Blitz a Success
We Thrive on the drive is an community agency that promote community capacity building and parental involvement.
On Saturday, April 20, 2013, Cobb County Police and Fire Department hosted a safety blitz at the Parkview Atlanta Apartments on Six Flags Drive, Austell, Georgia. The safety blitz gave an opportunity for the community to learn about fire safety, public safety and community resources. The event drew more than 300 community residents. Six Flags Amusement Park tickets were raffled off and in order to win the tickets, youth ages 12 and under were given a safety passport in which they had to have their passport stamped by a 911 operator, fireman, policeman and aninmal control officer. There was a very special performance presented by Premier Learning Academy. There were over 800 hot dogs given out, and participants enjoyed music, face painting and tours of the Fire Safe house. Special thank you to 3rd group properties, Commissioner Lisa Cupid,CERT team, Neighborhood Safety Commission, Austell Community Taskforce, and We Thrive On The Drive.
