Kingsley Village Celebrates National Night Out Against Crime

Kingsley Village celebrates National Night Out Against Crime.

Each year on the first Tuesday of August, National Night Out Against Crime is observed nationwide. This event is held to encourage neighborhoods to partner with local police departments and take a stand against crime. The event can be as big as a neighborhood carnival or as a small as a backyard barbeque, with the same objection being met: getting to know your neighbors.

This year Kingsley VillageApartment complex located on Six Flags Drive celebrated the event on August 12,  due to the fact that on August 7th, there was rain. The event was organized by volunteer Resident Activity Committiee Lisa Jones, Beverly Donaldson and Resident Activity Coordinator (Me). The event included hotdogs, ice cream sundaes and giveaways. Austell Community Taskforce donated crayons to give away and Captain Adcock with the Cobb County Police Department, donated public safety coloring books.  Mrs. Jamie Gilstrap wife of Cobb County Sheriff Candidate Greg Gilstrap was also present and talked with the residents about being involved in the community and keeping our children safe.
