South Cobb Schools receive new ratings....your school receive a 71.7 what does that mean?

Georgia Department of Education has released the new ratings for schools. The new rating is based on a scale of 100 and is called the College and Career Ready Performance Index( CCRPI). This new rating will replace the former rating which was Adequate Yearly Progress(AYP).

In the Pebblebrook cluster(Schools that feed into Pebblebrook) ratings are below. Riverside Primary (K, 1st grade) received  96 percent. Riverside Intermediate (2-5th grades) received a 59 percent. Bryant Elementary ( k-5th grades) received  75.9 percent. Clay Elementary School ( k-5th grades) received  79.4 percent . Harmony Leland Elementary School  (k-5th grades) received  87.5 percent. Lindley Sixth Grade Acadamy (6 grade) received a 76.4 percent. Lindley Middle school (7,8th grades) received  77 .3 percent.  Pebblebrook High School (9-12 grades) received 68.2  percent.

In the South Cobb High School cluster ( schools that feed to South Cobb High School) Sanders Elementary School ( K-5th grade) received 61.1 percent. Austell Primary last school year it served only (K, 1st )  received a 98 percent. Hendricks  last year only served grades 2-5th grade received a  84.7 percent. Clarkdale (K-5th grades) received a  70 percent. Russell Elementary School (k-5th grades) received  77 percent. Skyview Elementary School which is now closed  (k-5th grades) received  66.5 percent. Mableton Elementary School (k-5th grades) received a 88.5 percent. Garett Middle School ( 6-8th grade)  received  74.7 percent. Floyd Middle School (6-8 grades) received 79.4 percent. South Cobb High School ( 9-12 grades) received 68.3 percent.

Scores were based on a combination of standardized tests, attendance, and academic goals of the schools.

What does the new ratings show? It means that once the data is analyzed it should be shared with parents, homeowners associations, community associations, churches, youth groups and businesses. The South Cobb community needs to know how our schools can achieve scores in the 90 percentile and above.  We as a community must understand and know that it trully takes a village to raise a child. We must have a realistic plan and must involve any and everyone who lives, provides a service or a business in the community.
