October 14, 2021 - Cobb County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Lisa Cupid signed a second extension of the countyβs Declaration of Emergency today concerning the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Β The extension will allow upcoming public meetings to be held virtually, keep the countyβs emergency operations plan in place, and continues to encourage residents to get vaccinated and take precautions in public. The second extension runs through November 16.
βEven though weβve heard positive news from our public health partners on the downward trend of this latest surge in COVID cases, the countyβs case rate remains more than three times what is considered βhigh community transmission,ββ Chairwoman Cupid said. Β βKeeping this order in place will allow us to remain proactive and hopefully help end this latest surge.β
