Update: Pebblebrook Makes America's Most Challenging High Schools List

Twelve Cobb schools made the list.

Another Cobb County school madeΒ The Washington Post's list ofΒ America’s Most Challenging High Schools.

Out of 1,982 schools nationally, Pebblebrook High in Mableton is No. 1,924. Within Georgia, Pebblebrook is No. 109 out of 113 schools on the list,Β according toΒ TheΒ Post.

That means 12 Cobb schools were included in the 2013 list.

Eleven Cobb County schools were included inΒ The Washington Post's list ofΒ America’s Most Challenging High Schools.

Walton High SchoolΒ had the highest ranking of any Cobb County school, coming in atΒ No. 3 on the state list and No.Β 163Β on the national list.

The Post's ranking system calculates the number of advanced placement, international baccalaureate and advanced international certificate of education tests given at a school each year, and divides it by the number of seniors who graduated that year. A ratio of 1.000 means the school had as many tests as graduates.

  • No. 48: Pope High School
  • No. 56:Β Wheeler High School

  • No. 72: North Cobb High School
  • No. 95:Β Hillgrove High School
