Driver in Austell Accident Sought
The suspect has been identified as Shanita Nichelle Byrd of Smyrna.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Smyrna woman who allegedly hit a man in South Cobb with her Toyota Camry.
About 10:20 a.m. July 5, Shanita Nichelle Byrd and the man started arguing about an outstanding $40 debt that the man owed her.
Byrd, according to police, struck the man in the face with closed fists.
As the victim walked away, Byrd allegedly struck the man with her 1998 Toyota Camry in the parking lot of 5160 Austell Rd., according to an arrest warrant.
"The accused struck the victim with the front of her car in the back, causing him to impact the windshield," police said.
Byrd is wanted on a charge of aggravated assault and simple battery.
