Girl Talk

KSU graduate and Atlantan Haley Kilpatrick, author of The Drama Years: Real Girls Talk About Surviving Middle School – Bullies, Brands, Body Image and More, will give a talk with parents and daughters (ages 9 to 18) about the issues girls face in middle school today and how parents can support their daughters through the middle school years.

Ms. Kilpatrick is also the founder and executive director of Girl Talk, one of the largest peer-to-peer mentoring programs in the country in which high school girls mentor middle school girls.  Girl Talk has chapters in 43 states and has more than 35,000 members that attend Girl Talk weekly meetings at their schools. The April 16 talk will be held at the KSU Center and is free and open to the public.
