Former South Cobb Coach Gets Settlement
The coach's hiring at South Cobb High School was rescinded amid allegations of racism.

The Cobb County Board of Education voted to approve a personnel action on Thursday which included a $10,000 settlement to the former football coach at South Cobb High School, The Marietta Daily Journal reports.
Geoff Pastrick was slated to become the Eaglesβ new head coach following his March 21 hiring, but the decision was reversed by Assistant Superintendent Barbara Swinney on April 18.
The district claimed that a poor review from 2011 spurred the decision, but Pastrick and his attorney Justin OβDell believed the move was racial in nature, and threatened to sue the school system. Pastrick told the MDJ that he was pleased with the settlement.
