Mableton Man Dies After Sunday Crash
The local driver involved in the two-vehicle crash died Thursday night.

Cobb County Police continue to investigate a Sunday morning crash that led to the death of a Mableton man Thursday.
According to the news release Friday from Sgt. Dana Pierce, 71-year-old James Morris of Mableton was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital by ambulance after the crash that occurred on Brookwood Drive a few minutes before noon Sunday. Morris died Thursday night.
Based on information from CCPD’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Unit and interviews and evidence from the crash scene, officials say Morris’ brown 1990 Honda Accord was heading northbound on Brookwood Drive when, for reasons unknown, it went into the southbound lanes and struck head on a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 truck.

The truck’s driver, 41-year-old Ignacio Marquez of Douglasville, was treated and released from the crash scene.
