Man Killed In Powder Springs Park Shooting
A man with a single gunshot wound to the chest was found at Powder Springs Park, police say.
POWDER SPRINGS, GA — A man who was found shot in the chest Sunday night at Powder Springs Park has died, police said Monday.
The shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. in the 4100 block of Lewis Extension. Powder Springs Police said they found the 30-year-old man with a single gunshot wound to the chest.
Officers immediately rendered aid, and the man was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Police said at about 10 p.m., they were notified that the man had died of his injuries.

The man was not identified, pending next-of-kin notification.
"The Powder Springs Police Department extends its condolences and prayers to the victim’s family during this difficult time," police said in a news release.

The accused shooter was identified as a female, but police did not release her age or name. A motive in the deadly shooting was also not revealed.
Police said they have not established a known relationship between the man and the female. No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
