COVID-19 Tests for Anyone Displaying Symptoms

Georgia officials have announced that tests for the coronavirus will now be offered to anyone in our state displaying symptoms of the virus.

Many have been sick for weeks with dry coughs, fever, and fatigue, yet were denied testing because of existing protocols that were in place. South Cobb citizens with coronavirus symptoms can now make an appointment for testing by calling Cobb & Douglas Public Health (770) 514-2300 or after obtaining a referral from your personal physician.

The Health department will screen you over the telephone and direct you to a testing site. Call your private physician for their screening process. You must have a medical referral to be seen at a testing site - you will not be tested without this referral.

Experts are suggesting that citizens with the virus have been under counted and Georgia cannot predict with any certainty when we will reach our peak in the pandemic.

If you or your family member have any of the symptoms, contact the health department or your private physician. Please assist seniors and the disabled in your community if they need help in getting tested.
