Pregnant Woman, Unborn Child Die in Mableton Wreck

A three-car wreck in Mableton took the lives of a pregnant woman and her unborn child on Monday morning, Cobb County police told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.

Kaia N. Gumbs, 25, of Austell was killed when a Honda CR-V pulled out in front of her Acura 3.2 TL, which then crossed the center line and was struck by a Cadillac in the 6600 block of Mableton Parkway, the AJC said. Gumbs was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she and the child were declared dead, wrote the AJC.

The driver of the Cadillac was taken to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment, while the driver of the Honda was uninjured, Cobb police told the AJC.

Police added that charges will be filed pending the outcome of the investigation, according to the AJC.
