2 Brothers Safe, Cat Missing After Stone Mountain House Fire
The fire started in the garage of the Hugh Howell Road home.
STONE MOUNTAIN, GA — Two brothers are safe, but a pet cat is missing, after an early Wednesday morning house fire in the 5300 block of Hugh Howell Road, Atlanta News First reported.
According to DeKalb County Fire Rescue, crews responded around 2:45 a.m. There were smoke and flames coming out of the home's garage.
Everyone escaped the home, and there were no injuries, fire officials said.

Hugh Howell Road was temporarily shut down so firefighters could use a nearby fire hydrant, fire officials said.
The origin of the fire was the garage, but the cause is being investigated.
