STONE MOUNTAIN, GA — Two cats and a dog died Friday morning in a fire at a Whisperwood Trail home, according to the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department.
The fire happened around 12:15 a.m.
The dog and cats died due to smoke inhalation.

Believing residents were still inside of the home, firefighters searched the residence.
"Thankfully, all residents were accounted for," fire officials said in a news release.

Atlanta News First reported a person was rescued from the home by firefighters.
The family is displaced, the outlet reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
