9 Overdose At Stone Mountain Bar

A witness told officers the group possibly overdosed on cocaine Thursday evening.

STONE MOUNTAIN — Nine people possibly overdosed on an unknown substance Thursday evening outside of a Rockbridge Road bar, Gwinnett County Police said.

Officers responded around 7:45 p.m. to the 1200 block of Rockbridge, where police said they found Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services providing treatment to the group.

Three of the nine people were taken to a hospital for treatment while the remainder of the group refused to be transported, police said.

Though police said they could not positively identify the substance without a lab confirmation, a witness told officers the substance was cocaine.

"Officers are working to determine who provided the substance that caused the overdose," police said in a statement.
