'Extreme Weight Loss' Star, GA Native Brandi Mallory Dies At 40

Brandi Mallory, remembered as "a beautiful person," died of an unknown cause in Stone Mountain.

STONE MOUNTAIN — Brandi Mallory, season 4 "Extreme Weight Loss" star and a Stone Mountain resident, has died, according to multiple media reports. She was 40.

Mallory, who was a makeup artist, died of an unknown cause Thursday in Stone Mountain, People Magazine reported, citing the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office.

The ex-reality star was a Clark Atlanta University graduate who lost 150 pounds while on the ABC series, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.

In one of her latest Instagram posts, Mallory affirmed her belief in herself and her capabilities.

"The best question someone asked me was, 'Do you believe you can do it?' My response: 'I can’t lose…I ONLY win! I learn lessons, gain experiences & most importantly I GROW! Pruning is a necessary step in the growth process, so embrace the suck!I believe I can do ANYTHING I truly desire to do, which puts me at least 5 steps ahead!"🤗

Friends have taken to social media to share memories with Mallory and to express their condolences, including TV personality Big Tigger and season 5 "Extreme Weight Loss" star Kim Williams Maxile.

Those who knew her remembered her as a "beautiful person" who loved life and had an irreplaceable light.

According to Mallory's obituary, a public viewing is scheduled for noon-6 p.m. Sunday, at the Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 6861 Main St. in Lithonia.

Her funeral will be held at noon Monday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1947 Brockett Road in Tucker. Mallory will be buried in Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain.
