Who would have thought that folk art would have a presence in college football? Stone Mountain's Olivia Thomason, dubbed as "Georgia's Queen of Folk Art," by the highly respected historian Dr. Richard Funderburke, has taken her self-taught talent into sports, namely college football. Her hand-painted terra cotta flower pots saluting collages in the SEC like Georgia and Tennessee along with ACC legends like Georgia Tech and Clemson have taken art to a new level.

Ms. Thomason, however, is no stranger to this unique blend. Year's ago, when the Atlanta Braves dominated baseball, she painted "Angels Over Atlanta" and "The Tomahawk Christmas Card" both lasting legends in Atlanta sports lore.

An award-winning artist and "retired" gallery owner (Decatur's Primitive Eye), her latest project seems to be another big hit, a genuine headliner.
