• Expo Lounge in Stone Mountain receives a 65% on their recent health inspection (thegeorgiagazette.com) — A recent Georgia Department of Public Health inspection gave Expo Lounge on Rockbridge Road in Stone Mountain a failing 65, citing serious issues like inadequate food safety training, poor handwashing provisions, and cross-contamination risks. Inspectors also noted dirty equipment, pest evidence, and sewage disposal problems, and warned the owner that continued low scores could trigger a voluntary closure until violations are fixed.
   

• Social Circle player wins $100,000 in Sept. 16 Powerball (monroelocal.org) — A Stone Mountain resident won $50,000 in the Sept. 16 Powerball drawing using the Georgia Lottery mobile app, while a Social Circle ticket claimed $100,000. The Lottery also reported several other big wins statewide and reminded players that proceeds from these games help fund education programs across Georgia.
   

• Premier Brantley Delivers Keynote Address at St. Kitts-Nevis Association of Georgia Independence Gala (thelabourspokesman.com) — Stone Mountain recently hosted a sold-out St. Kitts-Nevis Association of Georgia Independence Gala, drawing nationals from across the U.S. to celebrate heritage and community. Nevis Premier Mark Brantley used his keynote to urge diaspora members to strengthen ties, consider returning home, and invest in development initiatives supported by new government programs.

  • 🌟 Stone Mountain HS NJROTC commemorated the 25 years since the 9/11 attacks atop Stone Mountain with regional 1st Responders. They honored all those lost and read the names of Georgians lost that day. —John-Michael J. Like
