Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident: Reports
DeKalb County police say they've apprehended the driver, who fled the scene.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run accident early Friday morning, and the DeKalb County police have apprehended the driver, according to media reports.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Covington Highway and DeKalb Medical Parkway in Lithonia, WXIA-TV 11Alive reported. The identities of the driver and the pedestrian have not been released.
A police spokesman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that police detectives were interviewing the driver, who sped away from the scene.

Following the accident, the police closed all lanes of Covington Highway at DeKalb Medical Parkway, according to AJC.com. The road was reopened at 8:40 a.m.
