Rep. Hank Johnson Honoring Antoinette Tuff
The school employee talked a gunman into laying down his weapons Aug. 20.

On Sunday, Aug. 25, Congressman Hank Johnson of Lithonia will present DeKalb County resident Antoinette Tuff with a Congressional proclamation and poem at her church.
“It is truly remarkable that the cool, calm and fast-thinking of Ms. Tuff may very well have saved our community and the nation from yet another unspeakable national tragedy involving innocent children. For her poise and composure beyond the call of duty, I say thank you to Antoinette – DeKalb County thanks you, Georgia thanks you and a grateful nation thanks you,” said Rep. Johnson.

On Aug. 20, Ms. Tuff helped diffuse a dangerous situation at McNair Discovery Learning Center in DeKalb County that could have become the nation’s next school tragedy.

The event is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at The Way The Truth & The Life Christian Center, 2255 Miller Road in Decatur.
