Public's Help Sought In Stone Mountain Road Rage Shooting

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA — Gwinnett County authorities are asking for the public's help in a road rage shooting that left a woman injured at Stone Mountain Highway.

Police said Thursday the shooting took place around 9:30 p.m., June 1. Officers found the woman with a foot injury.

The vehicle had multiple bullet holes, and several shell casings were located at the scene, police said.

The woman told authorities she was driving eastbound on Stone Mountain Highway, where a car was following her and flashing its headlights as if it wanted to pass her, police said.

The woman tried to get away from the car near Exit 9 on Stone Mountain Highway, when the driver cut her off and started firing shots into her car's passenger side, according to police.

The driver cut back the other way and fired more shots into the driver’s side of her car when she tried to evade it, police said.

The woman described the suspect’s vehicle as a dark, possibly green, passenger car, police said.
