Dear Congressman Johnson:

This letter comes to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation for your continuous support for the Alzheimer’s Association's efforts to find a cure for this disease. We are especially grateful to you for your recent vote in Congress to increase Alzheimer’s and Dementia Research funding at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for fiscal year 2020 in the amount of $350 million dollars, which includes $10 million to implement the BOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act (P.L. 115-406).

Alzheimer’s disease is the most expensive disease in the U.S. and impacts over 5.7 million Americans that are diagnosed with it, not to mention their multitude of care partners providing caregiving assistance to their families. Leading experts have said a greater investment is still needed if we are to stay on the path to preventing and effectively treating Alzheimer’s by 2025. The journey continues.

Again, thank you for your continued support as we seek to find a cure for this terrible and life changing disease.

Sincerely,

Jan McIntyre, Ambassador

Georgia Chapter Alzheimer’s Association
