"The Village Christmas Card"

A few years back, Olivia Thomason painted a cheerful, joyous scene inspired by the annual Christmas Parade in Stone Mountain Historic Village. At the request of friends, neighbors and some highly-respected city leaders, she produced Christmas cards featuring the painting. The cards sold out in just a few days.

She has these cards ready once again in time for the upcoming holiday celebrations. "Throughout my career as an artist," said Ms. Thomason, "I've painted cards for all kinds of special occasions: Christmas, Mother's Day, and even one for the Atlanta Braves." The Braves card was a 1991 effort meant for friends who celebrated Atlanta's baseball heroics in the 1991 World Series.

The Card, titled "The Tomahawk Christmas Card," took off, becoming a huge hit with Braves fans including Delta Airlines and Coca-Cola. "I sold out six times," she recalled, "but managed to keep one which I have framed."

An involved citizen, Olivia Thomason is an active member of Stone Mountain First United Methodist Church, the Stone Mountain Woman's Club and enthusiastic supporter of the arts, particularly Art Station. Her paintings are in prestigious private, corporate and professional collections throughout the country. She will be exhibiting her works at a soon to be announced special holiday event in a top Atlanta venue during the holidays.
