Vivian Shaku Introduces Us To The House of Globalization

Vivian Shaku is the CEO of the Non-profit organization “House of Globalization”. Ms. Shaku is no stranger to human services. She currently works in a field where she assist At-Risk individuals that are fighting poverty, domestic violence, human and sex trafficking. According to her organizations website the House of Globalization incorporates the visual arts into their process to bring awareness to these issues.

Their website states that “The Visual Arts are a catalyst for advocacy, awareness, education, and change. That’s why House of Globalization is harnessing the power of the arts as the medium used to convey our mission and give voice to the victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. Through the production and release of thought – provoking and inspiring films, House of Globalization will touch audiences –educating and galvanizing them around the issues of domestic violence and human trafficking. In addition to acting as a catalyst for change, Proceeds from the film will be used to provide education and training to victims, inspire advocacy and provide local and global support initiatives to end human trafficking and domestic violence. I had the chance to meet with Ms. Shaku and she had this to say, “Georgia is a hub for domestic violence, human and sex trafficking. It is our hopes that our organization will be a lifeline for those that have fallen victim to this activity and feel that they have no voice. We hope to create awareness in hopes that people will see the signs and not allow for themselves to be caught up in any of these dangerous and violent activities”. House of Globalization currently provides counseling, housing, food, employment services and transportation vouchers for women and men that have experienced domestic violence, human and sex trafficking.
