• State Bar re-elects Judge Heard to Board of Governors (tiftongazette.com) — Tifton Judicial Circuit Juvenile Court Judge Render M. Heard Jr. has been re-elected to the State Bar of Georgia’s Board of Governors, continuing to represent Irwin, Tift, Turner and Worth counties. His role helps shape statewide legal policy while keeping Tifton’s circuit at the table. Heard, a former Tifton Bar Association president, has served Georgia’s legal community since 1997. 
• South Carolina baseball lands Georgia RHP Jordan Stephens via transfer portal (garnetandcocky.com) — A former Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College pitcher who once played in Tifton is moving up again, as right-hander Jordan Stephens transfers from the Georgia Bulldogs to South Carolina’s baseball program. Stephens, from Rochelle, Georgia, first made his mark at ABAC in Tifton before helping Georgia reach the SEC Tournament title and College World Series semifinals. His next stop will be the Gamecocks’ rotation.
