Fire at Colony Apartment Complex Destroys 8 Units

A fire at the Colony of Stone Mountain apartment complex Monday evening destroyed eight units and damaged about 16, Assistant Fire Chief Norman Augustin said.

The fire at the complex off North Hairston displaced 17 people. "No one was hurt," Augustin said. 

The cause of the fire hasn't been determined and is still being investigated, he said.

Staff members at the Colony leasing office declined to comment.
