Sixty musicians will pay tribute to live music advocate Eddie Owen in six-show concert series.

Sixty musicians will pay tribute to live music advocate Eddie Owen in a six-show concert series in June at the in Duluth.
The βLive Music Mattersβ concerts honor Owenβs 20-year legacy of promoting musicians in Atlanta and the 2011 opening of his βEddie Owen Presentsβ music venue at RCT in Duluth.
Owen, the founder of Eddieβs Attic in Decatur who formerly served as the music clubβs booking agent, has been credited with launching the careers of the Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins, John Mayer, Jennifer Nettles, the Zac Brown Band and others over the past two decades.

Shows are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 22; 5 and 9 p.m. Saturday, June 23; 3 and 7 p.m. Sunday, June 24; and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 26. RCT doors open an hour prior to the concerts. Tickets cost $12 in advance/$15 at the door and can be purchased at www.eddieowenpresents.com.Β

Proceeds will benefit Owenβs 257-seat Duluth concert venue and music school. The Red Clay Theatre is located at 3116 Main St. in historic downtown Duluth. Downtown parking is plentiful with 750 spaces available. Beer, wine and soft drinks are sold before and during concerts.
Folk-rock musician Ellis Paul will present a family matinee concert at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9. He will perform songs from his debut childrenβs album βDragonfly Races.β Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for children under 12 and $10 for adults.
Ellis will appear with special guest Rebecca Loebe in concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 9. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
