Steelmart Moves to Tucker

Profitable steel producer plans to hire locally.

Steel manufacturer Steelmart is moving into a 60,000-square-foot building in Tucker, according to a report in CrossRoads News.

The new facilty, at 3476 Lawrenceville Highway, is more than four times the size of the company's present location in Doraville.

Owners Paul Carling and Brian Satisky started the firm in 1993 and claim to have been profitable every year since then. Steelmart has been on the INC Magazine Fastest Growing list three times in the past five years.

“Our formula is simple – do what you say you are going to do; take care of the customers, vendors and the employees,” Carling said in a statement.

“We are so grateful for this exciting opportunity," he added. "We want to pass on our good fortune to our new neighborhood. We look forward to being good corporate citizens and to give back in many ways, starting with bringing much-needed jobs to the area.”

The company, which supplies products to the building industry, is planning to add a minimum of five new employees to its 50-strong roster.
