Walk to School Day at Evansdale

Evansdale Elementary, along with other area schools participating in the Safe Routes to School initiative, is taking part in International Walk to School Day this Wednesday, Oct. 5. State Representative Scott Holcomb is attending and leading a walking school bus.

International Walk to School day is part of an ongoing effort to get kids walking to increase health and .

Evansdale, which holds weekly walk and roll Wednesdays, received safe driving pledges by parents, and encourages increased safety awareness. The school also won this year’s Clean Air PACE award and along with several other area schools won an infrastructure grant to enhance pedestrian safety around in the area.
