Which DeKalb City Ranked Most Exciting Town in Georgia?

The rankings were created in part based on the number of nightclubs, restaurants, and young residents per capita, along with Census data.

A real estate website has released its list of the top ten most exciting cities in Georgia, and Brookhaven tops them all.

According to Movoto, Brookhaven is the most exciting city based on its population of people aged 18-34, its high number of nightlife and music venues, its strong arts scene, and variety of restaurant offerings.

“Whether you’re walking from Slice of Brookhaven or The One Sushi + to Yebo or Houston’s (or to any number of the other restaurants, after all, as Brookhaven ranked second for its restaurants per capita), as the second most densely populated place in our analysis, you’re bound to run into somebody,” the website says.

Other factors considered by Movoto were the number of active life amenities per capita and the number of fast food restaurants per capita, with less being more in this category.

The top five was rounded out by Atlanta proper, Marietta, Duluth, and Kennesaw.

Coming in at a respectable seventh place was Decatur, says the website, in spit of the fact that its motto is “A city of homes, schools, and churches.”

Decatur ranked third for nightlife and arts, second for its dense population (4,527 people per square mile, where cities like Athens only had 992), and was first for its number of active life options per capita.

Says Movoto: “Really, who needs young people anyway?”
