Some spots, including Little Caesars on Watson Boulevard and Happy China on Russell Parkway, scored in the 80s, while Waffle House on Watson improved from a 70 to a 100 in just two days.

Warner Robins city council takes first look at tax rate that could raise bills as city revises budget plans (13wmaz.com) — Warner Robins officials are considering raising the city property tax rate to 10 mills, which would add about $86 to the annual bill on a $200,000 home. Leaders say delayed revenue from a future local-option sales tax forced budget changes, and three public hearings at City Hall are set for Sept. 14 and Sept. 21 before council votes.

Funded by the Home and School Association and Houston County title dollars, the machine offers popular graphic novels and social studies titles, with raffles and classroom incentives keeping kids excited about literacy all year.

Warner Robins man sentenced to prison in family violence case (41nbc.com) — A Warner Robins man has been sentenced to 20 years, with seven to serve in prison, after pleading guilty to aggravated assault-family violence in Houston County Superior Court. Prosecutors say friends called 911 to a Doyle Street home after learning of an attack, and the district attorney emphasized the need for prison time because of escalating violence against the same victim.
