Youth of Unity Holds Interfaith Event

Just a few short weeks ago, teens of Metro Atlanta had the opportunity to participate in We Are the Future! ~ Coexist Lock In 2013. This youth led event brought high school students from Cobb and Cherokee counties together to learn about various religions and build respect for each other. Through activities such as meditation, discussion, and games, these teens gained insight into other faiths and realized that even though there are many differences, the majority of religions hold the principles of love, kindness, and service in high regard. This event, held in congruence with World Interfaith Harmony Week (Feb. 3-9, 2013), also included a planning session for a one-day event, to take place in summer, that will continue the efforts to build religious tolerance and respect in such a faith varied community as Metro Atlanta.
