3 Injured In 2-Vehicle Crash In Cherokee County

The two-vehicle accident was reported Thursday afternoon on I-575 in Holly Springs.

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA -- Two people were injured Thursday afternoon in an accident on Interstate 575 near Sixes Road in Holly Springs. According to the Georgia State Patrol, a Toyota SUV and a Chrysler van were both traveling southbound between exits 14 and 11, with the Chrysler in the right lane and the Toyota in the left lane.

The driver of the Toyota, GSP said, "lost control of her vehicle" and hit the van, causing both cars to travel off the roadway and onto the west shoulder.

The two occupants inside the Chrysler and the driver of the Toyota all suffered minor injuries and were transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for treatment, the agency said.

The Georgia State Patrol said charges are pending against the driver of the Toyota. Additional details, including the identities of the drivers and passengers, were not immediately made available.
