4 Woodstock Fire Employees Earn Promotions
Kristina Wigington is now a captain, Torre Walker has been named a lieutenant and Jarred Sellers and Joey Byrd are now sergeants.
WOODSTOCK, GA -- Four employees with the Woodstock Fire Department have earned promotions, Fire Chief Dave Soumas announced.
Promoted to the rank of captain is Kristina Wigington. Wigington is a 16-year veteran with Woodstock Fire Department. In 2004, she obtained the rank of sergeant and became a lieutenant four years later. Wigington holds an associate’s degree from the former Reinhardt College, completed EMT school in 1999 and received her paramedic certification in 2004.
Wigington also holds numerous fire certifications, including NPQ Fire Officer 1 and II, is an ACLS instructor for the department. She also received her Level III Paramedic Instructor certification in 2013.

Torre Walker was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Walker began his career with the Woodstock Fire Department in 1996 and reached the rank of sergeant in 2009. Walker is an EMT I and is assigned to B Shift.
Jarred Sellers was promoted to the rank of sergeant. Sellers began his career with Woodstock Fire Department in 2006 and upon completion of his paramedic certification last month, he officially ascended to the rank of sergeant. He is assigned to the C shift.

Joey Byrd was also promoted to the rank of sergeant. Byrd began his career with Woodstock Fire Department 2010. He is a certified paramedic and is assigned to A shift.
All four employees will be recognized at the Aug. 14 City Council meeting.
